It has a very important place among literature, culture and art activities in Turkey.
Literature festivals and book fairs, which have increased in recent years, have become meeting points for both traditional and new generation writers. While these festivals keep literature alive, they also highlight new generation writers. They also serve as a means for children's books to reach more children and for children's literature books to merge with the literary world.
Literature festivals and children's book fairs organized in Turkey attract attention both locally and internationally. Events such as the Istanbul Literature Festival, the International Istanbul Children's Book Fair, the International Ankara Book Fair, and the Çukurova Book Fair bring readers and writers together. These festivals contribute to the spread of literature and the access of literary works to a wider audience. At the same time, they provide the reader with first-hand contact with the author, and help them gain first-hand information about books and read more books.
Book fairs are the best places for curious readers to discover new publications. They are magical places where new publishing houses, new authors, and new books are discovered. It is very pleasing that the number of fairs is increasing, but it is not possible to say the same thing qualitatively. Almost every week, on the same dates, large and small book fairs, book days, and literary festivals take place in many cities and districts. With the support of local governments, fairs become the center of attention in cities. (İleri, 2018)

According to the information mentioned in the column of the Turkish Writers Union ; The face-to-face meetings of writers with their readers, the reader's meeting with the writer whose books they read, finding answers to the questions they are curious about at that moment, learning what they do not know, being together with the writer or writers they are excitedly waiting for, receiving signed books from the writer, and especially the desire to take photos, as everyone knows, are all in question at book fairs. The writer's meeting with his reader is quite important. The experience that has spread over years is reflected on the white pages of a book like embroidery, so that the work that the writer has worked hard on is read.
The crowds of people who visit book fairs with the idea of ''whoever travels knows'', although it is explained with an apparent interest, are not converted into books. The book fair to be held should be made known to people with posters to be hung in schools and mosques, banners to be hung, announcements to be made by every teacher to students, and announcements in sermons and sermons. Parents should be informed and students should be advised to come to the fair prepared to buy at least one or two books. In addition, local and public authorities should distribute book coupons to students - from primary school to university - with the contribution of businessmen. Students' arrival and departure to the fair should be organized. (Karaçor, 2020)
Fairs are an ideal environment for writers who publish their own works and bring them together with readers. Young writers such as Rana Demiriz, Gökhan Müftüoğlu, and Sinem Öztürk have the opportunity to showcase themselves and promote their works at these festivals. These writers, who are just stepping into the world of literature, attract attention with their creative works. They can make their voices heard to a wider audience, especially through social media and digital platforms. These festivals allow young writers to communicate directly with readers and make literature more dynamic.
